Enter the name and category for this vent component.
Enter a unique name to describe this vent.
Select from one of the folllowing categories:
Grill - a vent normally only used with Calculated natural ventilation although can also be used with Scheduled natural ventilation in internal surfaces to include "Zone Mixing" air exchange. By default the Discharge coefficient is 0.5.
Opening - a vent normally only used with Calculated natural ventilation although can also be used with Scheduled natural ventilation in internal surfaces to include "Zone Mixing" air exchange. By default the Discharge coefficient is 0.6.
Zone Exhaust Fans - a special category that must be used with a corresponding Zone exhaust fan in the equivalent HVAC zone when using Detailed HVAC with Calculated natural ventilation.
Note: Vents with the Zone Exhaust Fan category must be placed on external surfaces.
Select the texture to be used to represent the vent in rendered views.
Regardless of the Natural ventilation mode selected, heat conduction through the vent will be modelled separately from any airflow. Select the construction that will be used to model the heat conduction.
